I had a life transforming experience when I found that both my boys suffered serious mental retardation due to juvenile epilepsy (fits). They were never going to have a normal life. They would never eat, walk or talk like regular children .But deep in my heart I knew that they were the same innocent children as they could love laugh and cry like all of us.

When they were old enough to to go school in 1996, there was no place in Warangal district, ready to take them and give any kind of education or training. These children needed special attention and support so that they also attain near normal life.

That was when I started this effort, so that my children along with other similar have a home where they are endowed with abundant love and attention they rightfully deserve.

After that ,I struggled to obtain a diploma in Special education for Mental Retardation, and started Mallikamba with the help and blessing from several people and Mrs. Padmaja Reddy, wife of Mr.K. Prabhakar reddy,I.A.S..( the then district Collector, Warangal and presently, the Special Secretary to the Hon. Chief Minister of A.P) has been a God Mother for us raising funds since we started. Her commitment and love for the children is ever increasing.

Mallikamba Manovikasa Kendram is a home to an increasing group of Children with different kinds of special needs.. We have a team of qualified training staff and an equally committed team of helping of staff. Together, they provide children at the institute love and support so that they can have a joyful life.

Though, all the 168 children and the dedicated staff are in an abode that attempt to transform their lives,
There are a few more necessities that are still to be provided.
